Squires

Squires Circle #1596

    The Columbian Squires is a junior organization sponsored by the Knights of Columbus.  The Squires are comprised of over 20,000 young men worldwide, who have fun and share their Catholic faith, help people in need, and enjoy the company of friends in social, athletic, cultural, civic and spiritual activities.  A Squires group is called a “Circle” and each circle is served by Knights, as adult counselors.  Our counselors submit to a strict background check and most have experience in working with or coaching youth.  Squires are encouraged to run their own meetings to build leadership skills and responsibility.  They create their own activities and service programs for their church and their community.  They also hold social events and host their own fundraisers.  Some activities that our Squires might do in the coming year are:

Thursday, November 22^nd--- Thanksgiving Repast.   Squires are asked to help out by serving food and collecting Garbage.  We will also be selling Advent wreaths for the church.  We will meet at 11:45 in Travis Hall.  Repast is about one hour long.

Saturday, November 24^th— Peanut Butter and Jelly Gang.  Squires volunteer to make PB & J sandwiches for the homeless at St. Anne’s Church in Brentwood.  Squires are asked to meet at the council at 8:00AM.  We finish at 11:30AM.  *** Please call Mr. Lehmann if at 656-5525 if you plan to volunteer.

Sunday, November 25^th--- Squires will be selling Advent Wreaths for the church in the Cenntenial Room outside Travis Hall.  Squires are asked to volunteer anytime between 9:00AM and 12:45AM.  *** Please call Mr. Lehmann at 656-5525  to let him know what times you can volunteer.

Wednesday, December  5^th---  Squires Officer Practice.  Meeting for

Officers only.  This will be a meeting for all officers to learn and practice how to conduct a proper Squires Meeting.  Meeting starts at 7:30PM.

Saturday, December 15^th--- Council Christmas Party.  All Squires and their family are invited to come to the Knights of Columbus Christmas Party.  Food and Beverage will be served.  Party begins at 7:30PM.   ***Please contact Mr. Lehmann at 656-5525 by December 3^rd if you and your family plan to attend.
